Messi Yakin Fabregas ke Barca

Barcelona – Lionel Messi mengatakan kapten Arsenal, Cecs Fabregas, ingin kembali ke Barcelona musim panas nanti karena "tak ada tempat lain yang akan membuatnya lebih baik" selain di bekas klubnya itu. Barca sempat mengajukan dua tawaran untuk membawa pulang alumnus akademi mereka itu musim panas lalu, tapi selalu ditolak Arsenal, dan isu tentang masa depan Fabregas kembali mencuat lantaran kedua tim saling berhadapan di 16 Besar Liga Champions.

Jumat (18/2), Fabregas mengatakan punya komitmen dengan Arsenal, tapi Messi mengungkapkan keyakinannya bahwa pemain Catalan itu bakal kembali ke klub masa kecilnya.

"Mari kita berharap begitu," kata Messi seperti dikutip Sport. "Pada akhirnya ia akan melakukan apa yang diinginkannya dan apa yang diinginkan orang-orang di Barca. Semua ini tak bergantung pada kami, tapi saya pikir kecenderungannya adalah berada di Barcelona karena tak ada tempat lain yang akan membuatnya lebih baik selain di sini."

Messi meneruskan tren negatifnya, gagal mencetak gol saat berlaga di Inggris, setelah Barcelona kalah 1-2 dari Arsenal dalam leg pertama 16 Besar di Emirates Stadium Rabu lalu, tapi ia mencetak 4 gol saat kedua tim bertemu dalam leg kedua perempat final musim lalu di Nou Camp.

Ia percaya Barca pantas meraih hasil lebih baik dalam pertandingan di London Utara itu dan ia yakin timnya bisa membalikkan keadaan dalam leg kedua 8 Maret mendatang.

"Kekalahan itu menyakitkan karena kami tak pantas mendapatkannya," kata Messi. "Di babak pertama kami bermain sangat baik untuk waktu yang lama, mengalirkan bola ke sekeliling lapangan dengan cepat – sayang kami tak menang. Tapi, kami tenang karena kami tahu bisa membalikkan keadaan ini – kami hanya perlu mengatasi defisit 1 gol.

"Tak peduli bagaimana kami melakukannya. Apakah itu gol saya atau bukan, yang terpenting adalah lolos. Kami harus bermain dengan cara yang sama dan jika kami bermain seperti di babak pertama, kami akan punya peluang besar untuk lolos."
